São Paulo is the capital of Eastern Brazil’s province of the same name. Brazil's most populous city is named after Saint Paul, and is one of the country's major tourist spots. Brazil's Independence Monument, the Bandeiras Monument, and the Ibirapuera Obelisk are well-known landmarks. It hosts the São Vita Festival, the Brazilian F1 Grand Prix, and the São Paulo Biennale. São Paulo, Palmeiras, and Corinthians are the city's three major football teams. São Paulo is the birthplace of the F1 drivers Ayrton Senna, Rubens Barrichello, and Felipe Massa.
