Oceanside is a city in the US. Situated on California’s South Coast, it is one of the biggest cities in San Diego County. Before the arrival of Spanish missionaries in the 18th century, the city’s first inhabitants were Native Americans. Oceanside then came under Mexican rule, before becoming part of the US in 1848. During the 20th century, Oceanside was transformed into a beach town and residential neighborhoods sprouted all over the city. Every year, Oceanside hosts a prominent women’s surf competition, the Super Girl Pro. Notable attractions in the city include the Oceanside Pier, Mount Ecclesia, and the California Surf Museum.
