Inglewood is a city in the US. Located in southwestern Los Angeles County, it is part of the state of California as well as the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area. Prior to the arrival of Spanish settlers in the 18th century, the city’s earliest inhabitants were Native Americans. Daniel Freeman, a prominent landowner, is widely regarded as the founder of Inglewood. Freeman started the Centinela-Inglewood Land Company in 1887, which helped the city to prosper. During the 19th century, Inglewood was the site of a Ku Klux Klan raid, which eventually led to the organization being banned in California. Today, many of Inglewood’s residents are Hispanic or African-American.
