Glasgow is the largest city of Scotland. It is governed under two separate central governments, by the Scottish Parliament, and the UK Government. In the city, which was recognized as the second city of the United Kingdom during the Victorian Era, châteaus and churches built in the “Art Nouveau” style attract visitors. The Glasgow Cathedral, Glasgow City Chambers and the Pollok House are among the significant buildings. The Glasgow University Library and Mitchell Library are among the largest libraries in Europe. In the Fossil Grove in Victoria Park, there are tree fossils older than dinosaurs. Alex Ferguson, Tommy Flanagan and Billy Connoly are some of the celebrities from Glasgow. Glasgow Rangers, the football team established in 1872, is one of the most important symbols of the city.
