Donald John Trump (1946-) is the 45th president of the United States of America. Trump inherited the real estate business of his father and owned several casinos in Atlantic City, New Jersey. In 2016, Trump announced his candidacy for the Republican nomination for President of the US. Despite his political inexperience, Trump defeated more than a dozen Republican politicians and became the party’s nominee. Trump withdrew from the Paris Agreement on climate change and the Iran nuclear deal, while meeting twice with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un to improve relations. He enacted a major tax cut in 2017, and has nominated two conservative justices to the Supreme Court.
