DADDY YANKEE

Daddy Yankee is a Latino singer and rapper. He is credited with popularizing the Reggaeton genre and coining the term. Born Ramón Luis Ayala Rodriguez in Puerto Rico, Ayala aspired to be a professional baseball player in his early life. He has been active in music since the 90’s, but gained worldwide notoriety in the early 2000’s with his hit Gasolina. In 2017, Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi released Despacito, which reached number 1 on Billboard charts, Spotify, and YouTube. In addition to his music career, he has worked as a movie producer and actor, and has his own clothing line.
