Caloocan, a fast-paced sprawling metropolis, is located in the vicinity of Manila Bay, in the Philippines. Originally founded by Spanish colonialists in 1762 and part of a small district of Tondo, Calcoon became an independent municipality in 1815. It was the center of the Philippines Revolution in 1933 and the prominent Bonifacio Circle Monument stands proud in remembrance. A city known for its cultural diversity the hundred-year-old Thai To Taoist Temple Pagoda is testament to some of the first known settlers. Famous for being the motorcycle trading capital of the Philippines, the city holds the renowned annual Caloocan Motorbike Festival.
