Ayia Napa is a tourist resort located on the southern coast of Cyprus. This destination is known for its exciting nightlife, with some bars and clubs staying open until daybreak. Its name is derived from a 14th-century monastery of the same name, which translates to “holy wooden valley” in Greek. Since 2013 the city has made many changes such as reforming public infrastructure and closing problematic facilities and was categorized as a main city-urban center by the Government of Cyprus in 2014. Popular attractions include the Medieval Monastery in the center of the city, the Sculpture Park, and the Medieval Art Festival.
