10 of the Oldest Rock Bands Still Performing

1.  The Rolling Stones (1962-Present):

Perhaps the most obvious band to join this list, these guys have been rocking live concerts for 56 years. Through addictions, accidents and drama, this band perseveres and continues to be the best of the best.

2.  The Moody Blues (1966-Present):

The Moody Blues have sold more than 70 million albums worldwide and have been awarded 18 platinum and gold discs. As of 2015 they remain active with one original member from their first 1964 line-up, drummer Graeme Edge. But the remaining two band members joined only two years later.

3.  ZZ Top (1969-Present):

ZZ Top holds the record for the only American rock band to have the same members for 30 or more years. There’s got to be magic in those beards.

4.  Rush (1968-Present):

This Canadian progressive rock band continues to rock the world 50 years after they first formed. Unfortunately, last January they lost drummer Neil Peart at the age of 67.

5.   Golden Earring (1961-Present):

This group has been rockin’ non-stop for almost 60 years. This rock outfit from The Hague, Holland, is probably one of the most famous Dutch bands and the oldest band on this list. With arguably the greatest road trip songs ever, they are still alive and kicking.

6.  The Who (1964-Present):

Even though drummer Keith Moon passed away in 1978 and in 2002 we sadly said farewell to bass player John Enwistle, The Who is still going strong with singer Roger Daltrey and guitarist Pete Townshed. The power duo continue to perform together, often referred as “the two”.

7.  The Eagles (1971-Present):

They’ve been rockin for 30 years, with a 14-year break in the middle. Their most famous song is undoubtedly “Hotel California”. They disbanded once but came back together again in 1994.

8.  Aerosmith (1971-Present):

The Bad Boys from Boston have been entertaining fans with their blend of rhythm & blues and rock 'n' roll since 1972. Although they’re not currently touring , it is always good to know that the band is still together and staying strong.

9.   U2 (1976-Present):

U2 needs no introduction. Since day one their line up has always been the same. They are well known for their sold-out concerts and setting standards in live entertainment. U2 are also known for their charity work and concern about the world's problems.

10. KISS (1973-Present):

There’s no reason for KISS to stop right now. Their unique style and stage performances made it possible for them to keep touring for over 40 years. Their fans, called the KISS army, are one of the most unique and loyal fan legions in the world.
